Interesting read!

I’d argue that Sora and Gen AI won’t render traditional marketing obsolete—at least, not entirely. If by “traditional marketing,” you mean the old-school Mad Men-style ad agencies that thrive on big budgets and exclusive deals with legacy media channels, then sure, their days have been numbered for a while. But that’s less about Sora specifically and more about the natural evolution of business

That said, while tools like Sora can revolutionise how we execute marketing, they won’t magically solve the fundamental problems. You still need to define your positioning and nail your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile). AI might optimise your campaigns, but it can’t tell you who your audience is—or worse, why your product matters. (Not yet, anyway. Give it a few updates, and we might be in for a surprise.)

I also loved your point about authenticity being key when using AI. Marketing has always been about connecting with humans on a deeper level, and no AI—no matter how advanced—can fake that spark
